Dear Alfred,
I am so glad to hear that we are winning the war and that you are okay. I know this will sound crazy but ever since your first letter came back home, I have been sleeping with them.

I read this one more time before boarding the plan to America. I was going to surprise ______ when I got home.

The plan landed in the US at 1:30am and I had the hour drive back to the house we bought just before our wedding. It had been rough on both of us, because we could only read each other's letters ; the pain of not hearing her wonderful voice, seeing her beautiful face, touching her soft skin and her silky hair was going to be over.

I walked up the door and put in the key in. Carefully going up the stairs and into our master bedroom, I found ______ asleep on our bed....clutching the last letter she got from me to her chest. I wasn't sure if I should wake her up. She'd told me in one of her letters that she had not been getting much sleep, too afraid of me dying on the front lines.

I leaned down closer to her sleeping face, illuminated by the full moon. I gently took the letter out of her grasp and replaced it with my body. I kissed ______'s forehead and finally fell asleep with her safe in my arms.

"Wake up ______,its morning. Time to wake up."

I heard a calm voice say. It so much sounded like Alfred's. 'Oh great, I miss Al so much that I'm going insane .' I thought to myself as I adjusted the blankets around me. Suddenly I became aware of the two strong arms around me, and some locks of soft hair tickling my forehead. I tried to say something but it only came out muffled and incomprehensible as I felt my head pushing up against something hard yet soft that was covered in fabric.

"Gosh, Honey. I didn't think it was possible, but you got even cuter while I was away."

I heard the same calm voice that sounded like Alfred's 'Wait, `a calm voice like Alfred's`, ` two strong arms`,`locks of hair`, `something hard yet soft that's covered....`, `Honey`....' I thought about it for a couple seconds, when it hit me... "ALFRED!!"

"Hi (cute nickname)"

"Al! I thought you weren't coming home for 2 more months!"

"The war ended sooner than that so we all got sent back home early."

"Well I'm glad that you are here safe and sound with – hey." I stop abruptly.

"Yeah? What's wrong, ______?" Alfred asks, confused.

"Where's the letter from you that I was holding?"

"I know this will sound crazy but ever since I read that you sleep with all the letters I gave you, I was jealous of every one of them." He murmured, holding me close.

"Well I like having you here better than those letters, any day."

(Normal POV)

After Alfred and ______ got out of bed and finished making the biggest two person breakfast, they spent the rest of the day watching all of their favorite movies, playing video games and simply enjoying each other's company.
